Introduction:
For this week's blog assignment we had to come up with our own "meme" and construct it using Photoshop. After listening to our class lectures, doing in class activities, and watching Adobe Photoshop videos, I feel as though I now have a better understanding of photoshop. I struggled a little trying to complete the assignment. Rewatching the videos helped, but I think I need to go into the classroom and practice a little more. For my meme, I decided to choose a picture of a baby who's clearly very tired and not awake. I then added the caption "Monday's." on top of it. I selected this picture because of how long these past few weeks have been studying for midterms! I couldn't be more happy. Fall break is just around the corner.
What I Learned:
While reading, I learned the importance of working with layers. I had to use layer groups, in order to add text over the picture of the baby. Adobe Photoshop states, " it’s easier to find text and other design elements as you create. Layer groups also make it easier to work with several layers at once" (Adobe Photoshop). Therefore, this helped me tremendously when navigating the "Monday's" text.
I also learned how to use the brush tool to add brush effects as well. Adobe states how these skills can "enhance" your design and "help fine tune" your work! I brushed tears onto the baby's face to help enhance the dreadful mood of "Monday's". While creating this meme, I had a lot of fun. You really get to express your creativity using photoshop. I hope we continue to use these skills for future projects!
